The name "Trans-Siberian Train" refers traditionally to the historical train ride from Moscow to the city of Vladivostok on the Pacific coast. It was basically constructed between 1890-1899, however, the final detour around Lake Baikal and other areas was completed in 1916. As you travel 5,810 miles from Moscow to Vladivostok you will have an opportunity to see the plains, steppes and rivers, and the Taiga and Ussuri Forests. You will have to adjust your watch every 24 hours, passing from one time zone to another. The train will run across the European part of the Russian Federation, across the ancient Ural Mountains, Siberia and Baikal area, passing across meridians.
