Day
1: Moscow
Arrive Moscow, Sheremetievo-2 International Airport. After proceeding
through customs, you will be met by your guide who will transfer you
to Ukraina hotel. Check in. Rest of the day at leisure................................D
Day 2: Moscow
The most unforgettable time in Moscow will start with a comprehensive
city sightseeing tour of Moscow. You will see the Bolshoi Theatre and
Tverskaya (Gorky) Street which is the business center of this metropolis
of 9+ million people. The Sparrow Hills is where the Moscow University
is located and the tour bus will take you there where a breathtaking
panoramic view awaits you. Next, you will visit the Kremlin, formerly
an old fortress, the core of old Moscow and governmental center of Russia
to-day. Your tour will include a walk through the famous Red Square
where you will stop and admire the magnificent onion-domed St. Basil's
Cathedral as well as Lenin's Tomb and the GUM department store. Next,
you will ride on the famous Moscow Metro underground system and admire
the marble and mosaic decorations of the stations and later visit the
Pushkin Fine Arts Museum, one of the leading fine arts museums of the

Day
3: Vladimir-Suzdal
After breakfast, depart by bus through the Russian countryside, traveling
through forests and villages to the ancient towns of Vladimir and Suzdal.
You will step into the wonderful world of Old Russian history and religious
life. You will first arrive in Vladimir where you will enjoy lunch at
a local restaurant. After lunch, you will tour this ancient town founded
by Prince Vladimir Monomakh in 1108. Among the precious historical buildings
is the Cathedral of the Dormition built by "craftsmen from many
lands" in 1160. The Golden Gate (1164) is the unique surviving
sample of old Russian military engineering art. Today, it houses an
exhibition of glass and lacquers. Later, a 20 mile drive will bring
you to Suzdal for overnight at Rizalit hotel...........B,

4: Suzdal - Veliki Novgorod
Following breakfast, a city tour of Suzdal: Kremlin's Earthen Rampart
(11th century) and the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Holy Virgin.
You will visit the museum of wooden architecture and peasant life, where
you will see the peasant log houses, windmills and other buildings.
Lunch at local restaurant of Russian cuisine. Afternoon ride by bus
back to Moscow. Departure from Leningradsky railway station by the overnight
train to Veliki Novgorod.........................B, L

5: Veliki Novgorod
Transfer to Beresta Palace hotel upon arrival. After breakfast
a city tour of Veliki Novgorod which means "new city" although
it dates back to the year 859 and historically and culturally rich,
it is one of the oldest cities in Russia. You will see the Novgorod
Kremlin which protects the unique St. Sophia Cathedral, the oldest brick
structure in Russia with its graceful belfry; it is the architectural
center of Novgorod. As you continue the exploration of these grounds,
you will discover a precious monument, "The Thousand Years of Russia"
which symbolizes the power and unity of Russia. Lunch at authentic Russian
restaurant. The History and Art Museum is home to a rich collection
of paintings from the remote past to present: many exhibits tell the
history that is truly old Russia. Transfer to hotel, free time and overnight........................B,

6: St. Petersburg
Transfer by bus to St. Petersburg. Accommodations at Moskva hotel.
Afternoon city tour at which time you will see such world famous sights
as the Hermitage Museum, the Admiralty, Peter-and-Paul Fortress, St.
Isaac's Cathedral, the Palace Square, Mariinsky Theatre, Nevsky Prospect,
Kazan Cathedral, Count Stroganoff's Palace, statues and monuments to
the city's heroism during its 900-day siege and courage of the citizens
during the Great Patriotic War.......................B, D
Day 7: St. Petersburg
In the morning visit the Russian Museum which contains a remarkable
collection of Russian applied art, paintings and icons. In the afternoon
tour to Pushkin, a town located 13 miles south of St. Petersburg. Visit
the main attraction which is Catherine's the Great Palace, a superb
example of Russian Baroque. With a facade of 985 feet long, the exterior
features a row of white columns and pilasters with gold Baroque moldings
boldly set against a turquoise - blue background. Entering the palace
by the main staircase, you will see displays showing the extent of the
wartime damage and the subsequent restoration work. The palace was almost
completely destroyed during WWII. It was occupied by Nazi forces as
army barracks. As the Germans retreated, they blew up what remained
of the former imperial residence. Today the palace again stands in all
its glory although the interior is still being restored.............................B,

Day 8: St. Petersburg
After breakfast visit the world-known Hermitage Museum, former Winter
Palace and now the treasure house of fine and applied arts, housing
almost three million exhibits. The museum's main entrance takes you
to the second floor galleries by way of the Jordan Staircase, a dazzling
creation of marble, granite and gold. This will be the beginning of
a most memorable experience. In the afternoon visit the St. Isaac's
Cathedral an architectural monument in which everything strikes the
eye - the stupendous size, the grand colonnade, an abundance of sculptured
decorations of great beauty, relieves, gilt work and marble. In 1719,
Peter the Great personally laid the stone for the new St. Isaac's Cathedral
to replace the first wooden one built in 1710. You will enjoy a theatre
performance in the evening. Transfer to hotel and overnight................B,

Day 9: St. Petersburg - USA
Breakfast. Free time before transfer to the airport for departure to
the USA .....B
